The cost of diesel has significantly increased in recent times. Car tax is no longer a “one size fits all” cost for motorists. Toll roads are in place and the fee for using these is also on the increase. Car insurance costs have risen. All in all, the costs involved in running a car in the UK today are high, they have risen much more quickly than wages.
There is another side to this coin. The expenses we as individuals are suffering are also being felt by businesses involved with running public transport. I travel each week to London from Newcastle upon Tyne and currently to walk into the railway station and purchase a return ticket, the fee is over
